The equipment that is mandatory in order to play ball hockey is a CSA approved ice hockey helmet, ice hockey gloves (Lacrosse and broom ball gloves are illegal),running shoes, and of course a hockey stick (Plastic blades are prohibited).
A protective cup, shin, knee and elbow pads,and full face shield are all recommended.
Goaltenders must wear full ice hockey equipment. Goalies must have a CSA approved helmet ("Street Hockey" helmets are not legal). "Cats Eyes" mask styles are likewise illegal because of the chance of a ball penetrating the face mask at high speed.
